International Lovers Part 2

If you’ve been following my blog, you may remember that one of my first posts were of this amazing couple! Cristy and Ted met in San Diego, they began a relationship that would have them both traveling thousands of miles all around the world. Ted is from Sweden and Cristy made the move to be at his side in February of 2013. Since then they have traveled all over Europe exploring many beautiful places.

On New Years Eve, Ted proposed to Cristy while they were vacationing on the Swiss Alps. Could he be more romantic?? She of course said yes and the wedding planning began! I made my way across the Atlantic to Sweden in July. I wanted to see where she had been living and meet Ted’s family and their friends who would be joining us for the wedding in the states. Let me just say it now, Sweden is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. There were so many places we wanted to shoot around his hometown of Halmstad but we ran short on time. We still were able to capture some beautiful shots around the home he grew up in. I cannot wait for the wedding!! But until then, here are some shots from their engagement session! Enjoy!!CT01CT02In Sweden it is customary for men to wear rings as well when they become engaged. I think America should adopt this tradition.CT03CT04CT05CT06CT07CT08CT09And yes, I made Cristy hike up to this point in her dress so we could catch the amazing sunset…CT10CT11CT12

Shaadi & Houtan

Oh my goodness – where to even begin with these two!!

I have to brag a bit first – I introduced these love birds five years ago!!

I have known Shaadi and Houtan for over ten years! They first met when I was having a night out with friends. My friend Haman was bringing his brothers with him on this amazing evening. My girlfriend Shaadi was in town as well and I invited her to come KNOWING they would like each other. Houtan has an amazing sense of humor and boy was he on FIRE that night. We spent the night laughing so hard we could barely drink our beers! It was there that I snapped their first photo together! 587_62927812976_8379_nIn April, Houtan proposed to Shaadi in San Francisco in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. They were in town visiting her father. I just happened to be with Houtans brother, Haman, that day. Her father snapped this photo after the proposal and she sent it to us.2013-04-06 18.56.57We were SOOOO excited to get the news! Haman and I sent this as our photo response: 2013-04-06 18.54.13I was so honored to shoot their engagement. Can’t wait for the wedding!!

Getting engaged means LOTS of parties and fun!! I had the honor of shooting this beautiful bridal shower for Natalie. Her sister Heather did an amazing job of decorating and  organizing this beautiful day!

Heather01I got there early to capture Natalie’s sister setting up!Heather02They did a wonderful job with decorations!Heather03These were fun, little cards for people to write down things they love most about Natalie! Heather11Her bridal shower is absolutely gorgeous!Heather04These sisters and mothers were full of smiles on this sunshine filled morning!Heather06Heather05These sisters have a love for each other I’ve only seen captured in movies!

Heather pulled together the best games! Here is the bride filling out the answer sheet!Heather10“Who Knows Natalie Best” ¬†Definitely brought some laughs.Heather12Heather13But this had to be the best, “Draw a Wedding Dress” on a plate while its placed on top of your head. Her guests had a hard time holding back laughs during this game!Heather14The winners!!Heather15“Memories” was another fun filled game. Guests had to write a memory in three words or less. Natalie had to decipher the words and tell the stories behind them!Heather16One of the best parts of a bridal shower, present time!!Heather17Heather18Heather19The bride received a beautiful string of pearls from her future mother in law!Heather20It was such a fantastic idea of Heather’s to hire a photographer to capture the day so everyone could enjoy the shower. It was so wonderful to see the happiness in the brides mother’s eyes. Natalie, I wish you much happiness and laughter in your marriage!Heather21
