It’s Been a While

My last post is less than 2 weeks shy of a year ago. Insane how fast time goes by. I spent 2015  traveling and doing a lot of soul searching. I continued to shoot and had an amazingly successful year considering how  often I was away. I’ll be busy posting over the next few weeks with photos from my travels/lessons learned as well as work. I’ll leave these photos of one of my recent little muses, Haley.

More to come…

Another beautiful girl is on her way!! I have known Nicole since childhood and its beautiful to see her at this stage in her life. We decided to shoot the images on a trail that Kevin and Nicole used while training for marathons! Now they are preparing for an infinite marathon called parenthood. Enjoy!!!Laymon01Laymon02Laymon04Laymon03Laymon05Lily is already got quite the shoe collection going!Laymon06Laymon07Laymon08Laymon09Stay tuned… their little pumpkin is due soon!Laymon10

Kathy & Ramsey

This shoot was special to me as I was, yet again, there the night these two met. Ramsey own’s a baklava company, Bakluvit http://www.bakluvit.com , and we were cruising the streets of downtown Los Angeles documenting people trying his Baklava and saying “I Bak-luv-it”. We eventually came across a very pretty blonde girl. I was shooting and documenting (of course) and he pointed to her. “Lets go ask HER to try my Baklava!” I looked over at this beautifully dressed long haired blonde and was thankful Ramsey was with a girl (me) going up to a girl walking alone and asking her to taste his Baklava. I think he would have been pepper sprayed had I not been there. Low and behold 3 years later, I found myself shooting their engagement session on the streets and beaches of Los Angeles. I wish you both the best of luck on this journey called life. And may your children be blessed with gorgeous toothy smiles like your own!RK01RK02RK03RK04RK05RK06RK07RK08RK09RK10RK11RK12RK13Words of wisdom… make sure your lipstick is kiss proof! Lori Gilbert Art

Well… it has been nearly two months since I have written a blog post. I have been super busy traveling and getting all sorts of great shots. Before my travels began I had the honor of doing some head shots/fun shots for Miss Lori Gilbert. Not only is she a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul, she is an amazingly talented artist as well. She has a lot of BIG things coming up for her and she needed some new portrait shots taken. We of course played around and took some fun ones! It was a crazy busy day for both of us but we managed to get these shots done!! I have thrown in some of her paintings so you can see with your own eyes the crazy talent this gorgeous woman has!!  I enjoy stalking her FB page as she takes you on her painting journey and even shares the prgression of her art. If you like what you see here, be sure to check out her Facebook page! Its under the same title as this blog post, Lori Gilbert Art:  http://www.facebook.com/Lori.Gilbert.ArtLori02Lori01Lori03

Sienna Chanelle

Sienna has finally arrived and she’s absolutely perfect. Along with being fully healthy and having all her little digits, she’s already been blessed with a perfect set of eyebrows! Ha ha. I had the honor of shooting her in her first when she was only 2 hours young. Dianne was so much more energetic than I had expected! I walked in expecting to see a tired but happy mother. She instead chimed with  “hey Steph!! Wanna see Sienna?!?!” She was born at the same hospital I was born in and it was amazing. As I wrote in a previous blog, Dianne and I have been friends since we were in junior high and it has been so beautiful watch her go into this next stage of life. She’s carried it with such grace and happiness. Enjoy!siennab Sienna02a
Sienna03asiennac siennadSienna is completely in love with her daddy!
Sienna05Sienna06And she definitely got Momma’s big brown eyes!!sienna07sienna08As if becoming new parents wasn’t busy enough, Mike and Dianne moved into their home weeks before her birth. We took advantage of an empty room for their shoot.sienna09sienna10sienna12She is definitely already a princess. She was adorned in pink and pearls (of course) for her shoot. Mommy’s nickname in high school was “Pinky D” because she ALWAYS wore pink. It only seemed appropriate to have Sienna wear a pink tutu!sienna13Dianne’s favorite necklace is her gold Chanel necklace. We of course incorporated this into the photos! Sienna didn’t seem to mind at all. Sienna14Sienna15sienna16sienna18sienna17Sienna is beautiful and will no doubt be a heartbreaker!! Just look at that smile!!sienna20sienna21Congratulations Mike and Dianne!! Love her so much already!!!

Mommy

My beautiful mother has been residing in Hawaii for the last five years so when she visits it is such a treat. She has been on the mainland since late january so I seized this opportunity  to give her a mini shoot. She is not just beautiful on the outside but also on the inside. She has the most loving and understanding soul. It is a quality I only ever saw in my grandmother before her. She has such an amazing light that shines from within. I only hope that one day I embody this myself. And I tried my best to capture this during this shoot. Everyone should be so lucky to have a mommy like her!! Enjoy!!M1M2M3M14We always tell her that her smile is most genuine when she is laughing. We laughed a lot throughout this shoot. M4We wanted some photos of her in my big black hat… it proved to be a bit to big for her. M5M6M7My puppy Luna even got in on the shoot hehe. ❤M8M9M10M11M12And it wouldn’t be complete without a jump shot. She’s a pro at these. He he.
